It’s spring. And as I’ve been taking my clothes from last spring out of storage, I’m discovering that THEY DON’T FIT!! AAaagh!! This is completely unacceptable. So I need to be committed to eating better and working out regularly. But I have no self-discipline. So the purpose of this blog is for me to log my daily eating and exercise habits. My hope is that by doing so, any significant straying will be right there staring me in the face and will slap me back into submission. Wack!

Dangling Dork

I still haven't heard from the damn personal trainer. I wish he would call me because i don't know what I'm doing in there and I need someone to give me a routine. But i went to the gym last night even though my neighbor Karen couldn’t make it. Didn’t stay very long but at least I did more time on the treadmill than I usually do. I wasn’t too bored this time so I was able to stay on it longer. Then i did these killer crunch crunch thingies that you dangle from a contraption to do. I like it because it makes me feel strong and athletic to be able to do it. I'm a dork.

Easter Weekend Report:

Not too bad. Not great, but not too bad.

Friday I got off work early and went shopping. My feet were pretty tired after that so I guess that counts as exercise but really reeeeeally low-impact. That evening I planned to go to the gym but Munier and I went out to run some errands and he kept dragging me around to place after place and by the time we finally got home it was 10pm! So, no gym Friday night. Boo! We went to the kabob place at the mall for dinner. Not bad.

Saturday we spent the day working in the yard because it was sooo gorgeous out. Also did a little housework and ran a bunch more errands. I DID go to the gym finally. Yay! My neighbor Karen showed me the ropes and I spent some time on the treadmill. It was overall, a light workout but I did break a sweat so that is good. For dinner we went to Sweetwater and I had salad, grilled salmon, sautéed mushrooms and a little mashed potatoes. Not the lightest meal, but at least well balanced and nothing was fried. That in itself is an improvement.

Sunday was Easter so we couldn’t do any errands, thank god. But we did spend the day outside doing yard work again. Hard, back-breaking, yard work. Good exercise. Then instead of going to the gym I took Munier and Lucky for a very long walk. For dinner I had a steak filet marinated and cooked on the grill, sautéed mushrooms and a very small baked potato. I also intended to serve salad, but forgot it. I guess we’ll have it tonight.

Not a Good Start for Good Friday

Lord. Well for breakfast I had a granola bar. That's like 29 carbs right there. Then, just now at work, we celebrated someones birthday and I said "only a very skinny sliver" to the proffered carrot cake. The wedge handed me was about 1 inch on the thick end. I ate only about 2/3 of it, but still.

SEE how I have no self-discipline??

Hit the Ground Running (or at least Walking at a Moderate Pace)

OK, so last night I went to the local rec center and signed up for an admission pass so that I can start working off this booty. I also signed up to meet with the personal trainer so that I can be sure I'm working off the booty in the most efficient way possible.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that I had Taco Bell for dinner last night. Booo! But I needed something fast and there is nothing fast that is good for you and actually leaves a satisfied feeling in your belly. Steak Quesadilla...I guess it could have been worse.
